2025 Policies
The St. Marys Community Pool has the authority to implement the following policies:
1. The pool will close if the outside temperature is 70 degrees or below. If the temperature is above 70 degrees for the second shift, we will reopen.
2. At the first sound of thunder or sight of lightning, swimming will cease immediately. The pool will close and then reopen for swimming 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder or sight of lightning. If the forecast shows that storms will continue, the pool will close for the remainder of the shift.
3. If the main drain is not visible from the nearest lifeguard chair due to heavy rainfall, the pool will close. If the forecast shows that the rain will continue at the same intensity, the pool will close for the remainder of the shift. We will attempt to reopen for the second shift.
4. If the forecast predicts persistent storms, the pool will close for the first and/or second shift. This decision will be made 2 hours before the pool is scheduled to open.
5. The pool may close if there are maintenance issues related to the pool and if it is affecting the patrons who visit. If the pool closes to a maintenance issue, refunds will be given to non-members in the form of a “free pass”. If there are less than 10 patrons by 3:00PM, part of the pool will remain closed for the second shift.
6. There will be no refunds for non-members due to weather closures.
7. Members MUST provide their membership fob to receive admission to the pool. Those who do not bring their fob, will be required to pay the daily admission rate for the day. This is to help streamline the admission process.
