Camp Discovery | Week 3 | ECCOTA Art Lab

This 5 day camp introduces young artists to foundational drawing, watercolor techniques, acrylic painting and introductory printmaking through nature-inspired projects. Campers will build technical skills while developing creative confidence and an appreciation for their environment.

This camp is held in conjunction with Elk County Council on the Arts and taught by Arts Educator, Jesse Gradl. Jesse is a professional artist and educator who has owned and operated Gallery 29 for nearly six years. In addition to running the gallery, he is currently in his fourth year teaching art at St. Marys Catholic Elementary School, where he works with students to build both technical skills and creative confidence.

His artwork has been exhibited and sold both nationally and internationally, and is held in private collections spanning 13 countries worldwide. Through both his studio practice and teaching experience, he is passionate about creating engaging, hands-on art experiences that inspire young artists to explore their creativity.

Camp Discovery is a new partnership between the parks department and Elk County 4H combining outdoor adventure, hands-on learning, and classic summer fun!

Designed for children entering 1st-6th grade for the 2026-2027 school year, this camp encourages discovery, creativity, confidence, and teamwork through engaging activities, outdoor play, and collaborative challenges.

Each day offers a mix of structured experiences based on the weekly theme, and free-spirited fun, giving campers the chance to try new things, make friends, and create lasting memories.

Camp Discovery begins at 8AM and runs until 4PM Monday through Friday.

Campers should bring spray only sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, an extra set of clothes, swimsuit, towel, a packed lunch, and TWO snacks each day with them.

Campers must be potty trained prior to coming to camp. This means no diapers or pull-ups. Your child must be able to tell counselors if they need to use the restroom. They should be able to pull up clothing and take care of personal hygiene. Pre-scheduled bathroom breaks will be given frequently throughout the day.

WEEK 2 IS A SLEEPOVER CAMP.

Note:

IMPORTANT
